A Reddit description of the Hoffman events is as follows: 'Mark Hoffman is a sociopath, conman, and a murderer. He conned them, (fooled them) and uncloaked their “gift of discernment”. Mormon Leaders put themselves in unwinnable situations when they claim spiritual abilities that they don’t have, and when they attempt to hide things.' (They paid Mark Hoffman hundreds of thousands of dollars for his phony Joseph Smith history documents.)
